大家非常关心英语与汉语拼音之间会不会混淆的问题。家长之所以提出这个问题,是因为组成汉语拼音的字母和英语的26个字母在发音和写法上都有相似之处。但实际上,这种混淆有两个特点,一是少数性,就是说很少比例的孩子会发生混淆;二是暂时性,即使有混淆也是暂时的,孩子很快就可以将两者分清。
实际上,每一种语言都具有独立的语音体系,彼此是不会混淆的。就好像同样的阿拉拍数字,在数学课上读作123(一二三),在音乐课上,就要读作123(do re mi),英语课上又要读作123(one two three), 但孩子们处理起来很容易,井井有条。人脑的潜力是巨大的,小朋友从出生以后就在学习归类,把能吃的和不能吃的分类、把爷爷奶奶和外公外婆分类,他们很快就能分辨清楚ABC是英文,阿波次是拼音的。

如果孩子已经混淆了,老师或家长在态度上不要把它当做大问题,这样也不会给孩子带来不必要的心理负担。第一要做的,就是给孩子信心。告诉他很多人都会混淆,爸爸妈妈和老师当年也弄混过,但是别担心,很快就好了。然后,可以带着孩子做一些辅助练习,比如带着孩子读一些英文的字母绘本、用同一个曲调分成两段来唱字母歌和拼音歌(小星星)、或者读一些中文的拼音绘本。如果极个别情况下,有些孩子特别的困难,也可以先暂停英语的进阶学习。在此阶段,重点学习汉语拼音,同时保证每天都做英文的字母学习和唱字母歌,但是只停留在本阶段、不再向下进行新进度。一两个月以后,孩子自然可以分开。
